Damn, the Effenaar is pretty much the last place in the world you'd expect My Bloody Valentine to play! Quite small too, surely less than a third the size of the Roundhouse or the room they'll be playing at ATP.
I might have to go to that, even if I already have a ticket for SunnO))) playing in a church that night. Hmm. |

I knew already but I've got an exam the day after FUCK FUCK. I didn't tell anyone so I could get tickets if I were bold enough to go. Sorry!

In Rotterdam, yes. But I think they're also playing a church in Belgium (Leuven?) the night after, so after your exam... unless you have a full exam week of course. |

They're also headlining Pukkelpop in august though (and yeah, I do realise that's not indoors).

I know. I'm happy I can see them then but I'd rather see them at the effenaar.

holy cow! My bloody Valentine playing in my hometown!! Hope the sound isn't as bad as it normally is in de Effenaar. It's still not sold out btw. I just noticed it when I visited their site. Hope it will be though, Cat Power a year ago had to be shifted to the small hall, because so few tickets were sold.
Oh wait, I hope noone shows up, the small hall is much nicer Please don't go!

Made up my mind and I'm sticking to Sunno))) instead. I'll be seeing My Bloody Valentine at ATP anyway.
But I'm surprised that this hasn't sold out yet. Just in London alone they sold out The Roundhouse 5 times straight, while over here they don't even manage to fill a venue a third that size for even one show... gotta love Holland. |

I really liked it, the noise was incredible. It was without a doubt the loudest gig I've ever been to. Especially during the noise part! I could feel organs move I didn't know I had!
I feel sooo satisfied.

so, did I miss anything? I ended up not going to MBV last night, was too tired etc and just wasn't in the mood to listen to the loudest band on earth.
Anyway, here's an article from the local newspaper. It's in Dutch though ofcourse: http://www.ed.nl/uitcultuur/muziek/5...ak-bij-MBV.ece It's more of a preview than a review
