What albums do you think capture the "sound" of love?
My Pick: My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" (overwhelming feeling all over yr body, orgasmic... Play it loud and turn the bass knob all the way to the right!) |

Kotton Krown
EDIT: oh, albums.... I think Loveless pretty much nails it... maybe Yo La Tengo's I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One |

There are beautiful songs.
Cat Power's No Sense comes to mind. So beautiful. So perfect. Brings me close to tears every time. Similarly, Arab on Radar's music is better than sex. Especially God is Dad.

I love that album. But I actually think of "Moon Pix" as more of a break-up album. But it's also kind of sort of sexy. |

Someone at Amazon referred to this as "the sound of love", too. I haven't heard it but I will. |

Maybe Funeral... but that gives a more... wintery feel...
just the "shoegaze" sound does that to me. ie, Psychocandy, any MBV, Raveonettes- Chain Gang of Love

Unmade Bed? I dunno, I think it's a really romantic sounding song.

For me it's somewhere between Diamanda Galas' Malediction and Prayer, EinstumissingoomlaugrzendeNeubauten's Kollaps and the Shaggs Philosophy of the world.

Generally(and because it does today and because it happens again and again) whatever greatest hits Dionne Warwick/The Shangri Las/The Shirelles are on but that is sacred truth.

That song:
'Are you the one i've been waiting for' is just beautiful but the whole album is truly a masterpiece. |
