I saw this episode. Russell Brand is like a spider, or something. Some awful black spindly creature of decay that you'd gladly drown and wash down the plughole.

Russell Brand is at times phenomenally funny. He's at his best just improvising during conversations.

He is one of many 'comedians' Britain is churning out that I would gladly see die. Like I always say, better people have been shot dead.
Russell Brand, Lee Evans, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, The Mighty Boosh- all shite. It's people like them who steal the focus from the real original comedy such as Dean Learner and Vic Reeves. |

I especially love The Mighty Boosh very deeply, as it happens. Apart from them and Brand I'm inclined to agree with you.
Is Lee Evans supposed to be a comedian? Gosh. I remember when I found out Frank Skinner was supposed to be funny, and I have to say this news about Lee is almost as much of a surprise.

The Mighty Boosh is great.I agree that Vic Reeves is a really good comedian but Stewart Lee is simply the best.

Vic Reeves was particularly when he was on QI last year, when he proposed we send Yak up into the atmosphere in hot air balloons to entice tourists to the 'vast sky fields of yak'.

But thats not why i hate him, its because hes the biggest comedian in the country and he IS NOT FUNNY. AT ALL.
His one function is to be funny, which he does not fulfill, and the fact He's a cunt is just incidental really, but merits mentioning. |

I have not, but all he seems to do is nudge nudge wink wink, which is fine but he does it too much and he doesnt do it well. I dunno, maybe its just the lack of subtlety and understatement. I like Sean Lock, Bill Bailey, Bill Hicks (Hes probably similar but i think i find his personality easier to identify with than Russel Brand), Paul Merton. I like things that have a more surreal side, Russel Brand just seems to have very little imagination to me. edit: Although i do recognise that he's clever. |

While i can't see Brand's career stretching for too long,he is quite funny at the little he does and in that sort of 'chat show guest' kinda way.Hicks is definately a good call,Merton on the other hand is so-so.Personally,i find these to be the best: Chris Morris Lenny Bruce Armando Iannucci Stewart Lee Julia Davis Steve Coogan Rob Brydon |

I meant in terms of stand up but in terms of shows and stuff Armando Iannucci is probably my favourite. And Stewart Lee is a great stand up as well. Its interesting watching those youtube videos cos theyve got subtitles and im realising some of what he says would be very witty if it was somebody else saying it. |

The above is true. I hate myself for using this cliche, but here goes: style over substance. He is the comedy equivalrent of Pete Doherty. It's almost irrelevant that he isn't funny, that's not the purpose he serves anymore. He's just trashy magazine fodder. File alongside Jade and whoever wins Celebrity Big Brother. |

How can you say The Boosh arent original and Dean Learner(Richard Ayaode) is? Sure, Garth Merenghis Darkplace was great and featured most of the boosh anyway, but Dean Learners recent show was terrible, to me he's just copying what Alan Partridge did 10 years ago. |
