Has anyone read David Simon's book, Homicide? Incredible! The kind of book that makes you laugh out loud in response to just how good it is. My first thought after finishing it was why can't Britain produce anything remotely this good, and necessary? As far as I'm concerned, David Simon and Evan Wright (author of the equally brilliant Generation Kill) are frankly embarrassing a lot of arguably more prestigious writers right now.
A very good (if also very long) lecture to USC Law students by David Simon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8E8xBXFLKE |

After rewatching the entire series I can still confidently say that it's still the best tv series in the history of the universe.

Currently on the third series. Fucking brilliant. Possibly the best television program ever. The characters are brilliantly written, really realistic.
