In a weird way, Londoners are, by definition, the worst people to ask about London hotels, seeing as how they're the one people that never use them.
I'd say go for location rather than facilities, cos you're not gonna wanna be stuck in some party central mega hotel if it means you're stuck out in somewhere like Cricklewood. You'd probably be better off asking people whose taste you trust that travel regularly TO London, rather than those that live in it. Whatever you decide, avoid the Hammersmith area. Boring fucking shit-hole of a place. |

The Sanderson is the expensive party hotel of choice i believe, but like demonrail said, i don't really know.

Yeah, if your funds can run to it, the Sanderson is a good option. But equally, if you can afford to stay there, I sort of already hate you/want you to lend me money.

Covent Garden has a good one that was opened by that hotel magnate who got busted for drugs, I can't remember what it's called, though. I'm sure it would be very, very pricey but it has a reputation for being a good one on the market (according to the sort of crap that I read on Sunday supplements, anyway) and affordable for a rich Texan oil magnate like you. |

Slightly off topic, but genius nonetheless:
When Sir Elton was staying at, I think it was the Hilton overlooking Hyde Park, he insisted on being put on the top floor penthouse of what is, for London, a very tall building. He rang down to reception to complain of a whistling sound in his room, to which he was informed that that was the wind outside. To Which Sir Elton replied frustratedly, "well you're going to have to fucking stop it then." Cocaine and power, doncha just love it? |

I travel to London a lot. My recommendation is to stay on Matt's floor, or Mohammed's (he does good breakfast) or, if you want to get decently drunk, Toni's. There are other options, obviously.

Yeah, Mohammed's breakfasts are amazing, but watch he doesn't break the yoke on the fried eggs.
Seriously though, why spend uber-dosh on a London hotel when you're only gonna be sleeping there? B&B is the way to go, surely. |

I meant to mention - I'm due to be up in London a few times soon (which is, coincidentally, going to destroy me) so, like, PM me and we'll 'party' if I'm about and shit. NB - the polite way to describe 'partying' in London is to 'get cunted'

where are you moving into???
I got a place on bleecker and sullivan lined up Oh and it was the last time I was up there that I got banned This french girl that I was talking to at the time, whom I had met on my last trip to paris, came to NYC to visit me I was staying with a friend, so I thought i'd get us a room for the night Well, we partied super hard at my friends apt and went out Went back to the Soho Grand around 3 am She asked the guy at the front desk for a water bottle but he said he didn't have any So she like flipped out and started screaming in french at the guy I was trying to get her to calm down The guy told us to leave and never come back She wouldn't calm down, so he called the cops We stumbled out into the cold rain and looked for another hotel We ended up staying at the Hotel Azure Crazy night |

Covent Garden's not just a place, it's a STATE OF MIND!
A rather dull one, at that. |
