Sources say OJ Simpson and five other men barged into a hotel room last night, and took various memorabilia once owned by Simpson -- at gunpoint! It happened at the Palace Station Hotel last night at around 7:15. Alfred Beardsley, a memorabilia dealer, had secured various items once owned by Simpson. Beardsley has said he had the suit OJ wore the day he was acquitted of murder. Beardsley tells TMZ he had arranged to meet with someone last night who was interested in buying the suit and other Simpson memorabilia. Beardsley says the man was actually a member of Simpson's crew. He says the men stormed the room, two of them with guns drawn. Beardsley says the men claimed to be police officers. OJ and others demanded that Beardsley and two other men surrender their cell phones. Beardsley refused to do so. Beardsley says the group stole every piece of memorabilia in the room, including items signed by Joe Montana. They also took a case of never-released leather editions of Simpson's book, "I Want to Tell You." Beardsley told TMZ he was uneasy about the arranged meeting and did not have the suit in the room when the six men entered. Beardsley says he made a 911 call, and cops subsequently obtained a search warrant for the room. CSI investigators took Beardsley's phone and took DNA samples and photos of his body. Beardsley says one of the guys roughed him up. Cops tell us Simpson was questioned but not placed in custody. There is an active robbery investigation underway. |

Did you here the latest, how the Goldman family bought the rights to Simposon's "hypothetical" murder book, "If I Did It", and have now re-titled it to "I Did It"? I must say I'm glad to see the Brown family seperate themselves from the Goldman family on this one. If they had the power over that book, why not just shelf it? At least the Brown family took the high road on this one.

He tells The Associated Press that he went to the room to get memorabilia that belonged to him, but he says he didn't break in.
Simpson says he was conducting a sting operation to collect his belongings when he was escorted into the room at the Palace Station casino. Investigators questioned the former football star and named him as a suspect in what was described as a break-in involving sports memorabilia. |

the laughter from this statement will carry me through the rest of my days.... I think that this would be a good place to repost my evil_shrine to OJ's balls. |

true, but if i remember correctly most of his old belongings (including his Heisman Trophy) were sold off after he was found liable in a civil suit for wrongful death and battery and the proceeds went to the families of the Goldmans and the Browns, although much of the $33 mil he was to turn over to the families has not changed hands
however this alleged theft does not appear to include any of those items, but i must say i have no sympathy, he still receives a sizable pension from the NFL, autograph signings and the like |

I stopped caring about all things O.J. Simpson thirteen years ago. In fact, the trial coverage was arguably my first introduction to the fact that people en masse are stupid.

Hey, perhaps OJ can write a book about this as well ("Imagine if I really did steal those trophies?"). Otherwise, this is one Simpson character that makes me go "meh".
