ive always wondered what defined a hipster? if it means you like to dress well and listen to underground music, then, i dont mind hipsters, i suppose i could be one.

If dressing well and listening to underground music is all it takes to be a hipster, then sign me up.
I suppose it could be the snobby thing, but moreso I believe it's the thought that hipsters only listen to what's 'cool' atm. Crystal Castles now, Animal Collective last month, that kinda thing. |

After several listens to their s/t , I still enjoy the first 8 tracks immensely, but the last 8 bore me quite a bit and really hurt the album as a whole . If they had left it at that 8 , it would have been a much more substancial album . Or they could have waited ? Dont know .
They're opening for NIN over a section of their tour . Hmm . |

just listening to the myspace now, i like them (not the acoustic song though). but obviously i'm now conflicted about it because i found out from reading this thread that "hipsters" like them, and if i want to fit in with the most open minded sonic youth fans then i'm not allowed to like crystal castles and must act snotily towards the people who enjoy their music.
