anyone planning on getting one on friday or shortly after? what about you british cats...planning on getting one when it arrives over there?

i sold my wii and all the games for iphone/new york money and i don't feel the least bit ashamed. i've got a friend who's going to be camping out for me until i get out of work on friday.

also, one of my good friends won't stop dating strippers/fetish models/goth chicks, but he really should. how can i get him to stop it?

i only ask because all these goth chixxz are really causing my buddy more heartache than they're worth and i think if he got with people who weren't so obsessed with being un-normal (not different, but un-normal, if that makes sense) and victimized.

your buddy is going to get blue balls and heartaches no matter what girls he's after, dude seems to be idealizing his women.

he definitely is idealizing them and he's stuck on this being "dark" thing that's really a waste of his time, because he isn't self absorbed enough to be like that. i could easily keep letting him deal with these girls, but i've seen him teeter on alcoholism as a result of the depression he faces from letting them drag him through the dirt.

he seems to need to things:

a) a female friend who can show him girls are not tits and asses covered in clothes (in this case, buttocks high boots and vinyl anything).

and

b) a hooker so he can get his freak and stop being all neurotic about getting some...hell, pay the whore rightly and she can dress like that fatty in herbalessences...i mean evanescence.

Goth chicks don't do it for me - I see it all as an attention seeking fad (the whole "goth" thing). Your friend just obviously has bad taste in women. But then Atsonicparks girlfriend does nothing for me either. Girls have to have charisma to get at me, and they can be charismatic whether scene or not.

same here, but i think it's really helpful to have a machine that can access the internet whenever, not just when i have time to sit down and pop out my powerbook (which, because of the casing, doesn't pick up signal as well as my ibook...which has a dead battery). i've been getting back aches as a result of carrying the thing around so much, not to mention how much of a liability it is to carry my instrument around the cities i go to. that's my reasoning for getting one.

I got a thing for them myself so I cant really talk, But I would hate to date one....the amount of times ive had this argument with 'goths' about how what they listen to, watch, wear is not in the slightest bit dark. Vampires, Zombies, Ghosts, Satan are not fucking dark. Heroin Addiction, Modernist Apartment blocks, Child Abuse, Ukraine....THATS fucking dark.

Or rather, the whole thing about Goths being attention seeking is true of most people, it's just that (some) goths make it more obvious. I have friends who are goths. I have friends who are not goths. Most of them, in their own little way, are reprehensible human beings. Which makes me feel good about myself. Remember - people are not people, they are objects to make you feel better about yourself. This whole 'personality' schtick is, like, sooooo old.

Grr I totally CAN wait for those crappy phones to come out here. It'll suddenly become cool to have an iPhone and everyone without one will be scoffed on by the "cool" kids who begged their parents to buy one for them. Just like with iPods. I know people that never listen to them but just bought them to be cool. Either that or they have them but only have shit they downloaded from limewire on them, usually whatever's in the top 40. People who buy Zens and iRivers actually care about music because they want the best player around, not just one that makes them cool.

I just hate everything that Apple makes by default. Yes, Windows is buggy and whatnot, but is much more compatible with software than Macs. Another thing that shits me off is how every person who makes music on a computer HAS to have a Mac. The majority of soft synths don't even work on Macs. Apple had to start using Intels (a processor that was featured only in PCs) before they actually started to be somewhat decent. Then they made all these ads slagging PCs saying "Now Macs have Intel, so throw out your PCs because they are shit".

Talk about biting the hand that feeds....
