this chick...

i just recently got back in touch with a very close friend i haven't talked to at all in about 3 years. all through college she was my closest female friend. we lived together as roomates for 3 years and worked in the same office for 2 years. a very long time ago, slightly drunk, she proposed to me but i was engaged to another woman at the time (a fact that she well knew and still threw herself at me...) or i would have slept with her then and there. i have spoken to her on the phone three times in the last week, and she tells me that among other things...

a) recently she's been very lonely
b) her last 2 boyfriends share my first name

....is there something going on here, or is this just a coincidence?

davenotdead 04.13.2008 02:20 AM

old college friends/roomates/coworkers are the darndest things... i will probably never figure out these things

ZEROpumpkins 04.13.2008 02:25 AM

In my professional advice:
Hit that, playa.

✌➬ 04.13.2008 02:34 AM

I would stay away from her. Tell the bitch to move on.

✌➬ 04.13.2008 02:37 AM

Mirror dash is only sleeping with me and my Boyfriend.

in three weeks she will be a 5 hour car ride away... i have a feeling my phone bill next month will be horrendous.

Norma J 04.13.2008 02:48 AM

well, acouple of things:

Do you genuinely like her and its not just convenience?
Is she crazy/loopy?
Do you think your life would be the better if you pair become 'lovers'?
(and most importantly) are you single? and is she? (I don't like me adulterators)

I know kegmama, but what can a girl do.

But is it worth it for a 2 hour lady ride? (That's right, 2 fuckin' hours!)

Ohhhhhh, I know alot of lonely girls. Seems I've been missing out. haha.

_slavo_ 04.13.2008 03:11 AM

Very nice, mirror dash, go for it, you'll see how it turns out.

Dead-Air 04.13.2008 03:29 AM

You've made yourself out to be a pretty lonely guy in recent times, so you should probably go for it. I hear this little devil's advocate in me saying, "Proceed with caution", however. Your initial description seemed to bring the loopy/crazy thing a bit more to the forefront, and I've had some regrets in my day on that front. But we all know what the Butthole Surfers say about regret...

So just be safe, except for where it's necessary to throw it to the wind.

i know... that's the thing. i'm a pretty head-in-the-clouds type guy... and i seriously need a woman with both feet firmly on the ground to keep things balanced.

among our friends, this woman's name is synonymous with the word "loopy."

on the other hand, my ex-wife was only 0.0000002% loopy, and that didn't work out so well.

that's kool and the gang, but i seriously do not want to lose a friend of 16 years over a stupid sex thing.

on the other hand, is the possibility of gaining a life partner worth the risk?

ZEROpumpkins 04.13.2008 05:25 AM

How old is she, pal?

m1rr0r dash 04.13.2008 05:29 AM

she's 32, i'm 34.

be careful, some people talk the talk but they dont walk the walk. it sounds good but is it worth giving up what you have now? then again will you always be thinking what if? good luck.

ZEROpumpkins 04.13.2008 06:09 AM

Fair enough. It's your call man.

time for a booty call

jon boy 04.13.2008 12:33 PM

mirror, i would also be careful as some people while they may seem ok and stuff can actually turn out to be full of shit in regards to their true feelings and you could end up not feeling so good about it afterwards. its a tough call and i dont envy you, even though she sounds like a great girl but its not a fun situation. let us know how you get along.

davenotdead 04.13.2008 01:58 PM

put the pic back up

truncated 04.13.2008 02:03 PM

While there are clearly mutual feelings there, you should ask yourselves why you didn't give up what you had in the past to be with each other. I don't mean this to sound insulting, but is she propositioning you as a "sloppy second?" i.e., simply because she's become available and you're convenient?

Why is there always an appeal to the unstable?
