Would you ever eat another human being if your survival depended on that?

A poll is on the way.

sonicl 02.13.2007 07:12 AM

It depends on who the human being is. I wouldn't bother eating Kate Moss, there wouldn't be much to chew on.

Moshe 02.13.2007 07:13 AM

Only if he is kosher.

jon boy 02.13.2007 07:13 AM

i would and i would saute them with some lovely onions.

sonicl 02.13.2007 07:15 AM

What wine would you have to go with that, Jon?

jon boy 02.13.2007 07:19 AM

blood. i hate waste.

nicfit 02.13.2007 07:58 AM

I voted no because it's something I would never do rationally. But probably my rationality and free will would be quite obnubilated in a life-death situation...I'd eat legs first, methinks.

nicfit 02.13.2007 07:59 AM

Blood is too salty, it would not ease your thirst, jon boy.

jon boy 02.13.2007 09:08 AM

well apparanlty everything tatses like chicken anyway so white wine goes well with that doesnt it? red wine with human flesh phah! so not done.

Inhuman 02.13.2007 09:12 AM

In all seriousness, yes I would. I don't find it immoral at all to eat a human because the only difference we have between animals and us, is that we have consciousness. I think that if it was a part of our culture to eat people when they passed away, then we would. It's really just what society defines it as. If it was common to see a man wearing a skirt, we would accept it.

I would if I was part of the Uruguayan rugby team that crashed in the Andes mountains in 1972.

On a different note, I read an article a couple of years ago, about a restaurant owner in London that was trying to get a permit, so that he could prepare dishes consisting of human flesh. He had people that were ready to donate their bodies upon dying. I couldn't believe what I was reading and checked the articles date in case it was the 1st of April. Have any of you Londoners ever heard about this?

Tokolosh 02.13.2007 10:07 AM

HeHe!

fishmonkey 02.13.2007 10:11 AM

Would I be answering your question, if I said that it didn't taste kebabish? :)

Edit: I'm expecting Sonicl any minute now fishmonkey...

sonicl 02.13.2007 10:20 AM

I decided that I could eat another human, if my survival depended on it. But not a Man U fan, I don't think I'd like the bitter aftertaste.

Danny Himself 02.13.2007 10:21 AM

This reminds of the book 'How to cook for 40 Humans'.

cuetzpalin 02.13.2007 10:21 AM

yes.

I agree with that, with the exception of consciousness - I would substitute consciousness with rational thought, but even that can't be proven.

Anyhow, I would have no moral issues with it whatsoever; I'm just not generally a fan of meat.
