it appears to be true... gawker is a media network with a few different sites, people need an account to comment and you can link it to your facebook or e-mail.

hey verme, while you're here i have a quick question for you. in my recycle bin i've got a small .vob file 36.0kb in size and i can't delete it. if i try to delete it then my pc starts slowing down and i can't open any folders and have to restart my pc. if i just leave it alone then i don't have any problems. i can delete everything else with no problems. i had this same problem once before and it seemed to disappear after about a year but now it's back. any ideas?

weird. i don't know. maybe it's being used by some process? even when you do a shift+delete (skipping the recycle bin)?

you mean try and restore it then do shift+delete? i will try this but i don't know where it'll be restored to. i suppose i'll have to search for it...
i'm not too bothered though because as long as i don't try to delete it from my recycle bin i don't have any problems. i've done a virus scan and nothing is found. |

i can't restore it either, it seems like i only have to look at the file or hover the pointer over it and my pc freaks out. oh well i've lived with it for so long now that i'm used to it. if i want to clear my recycle bin i know i will have to restart my pc too.

yeah, consider it a feature.
hah it might be a simple corrupted file or perhaps bad allocation, corrupted data structure or some windows™ shite... i guess i'd just manually mount the partition and remove the specific inode or fileref. there might be some windows tools to solve this but nothing i can name off my head. |

VOBs are video objects. It came with a VIDEO_TS file that you downloaded or ripped and you probably don't have permission to use it, or delete it.
You'll have to unlock it first. This should do the trick: http://download.cnet.com/Unlocker/30...html?tag=mncol Instructions in the Publisher's description under the download link.
