I'm currently jamming to the Biscuits' "Trumpton Riots" 12-inch. Grade Z UK personalities meets punk and it all gets mixed up in a stew that pleased the nostrils of John Peel.

So what say you, SYGers, yay or nay to the Biscuits?

I don't know about genius but they're a sight better than The Fall these days, if you ask me.

Do they officially qualify as an institution yet?

Well, they've been slogging away for the best part of 25 years, so they probably do, in a way. There was recently an internet campaign to get their "Joy Division Oven Gloves" tune into the Top 40 (which worked, as it happens), and they seem to be a band that, although not popular, have been namechecked a fiar few times over the years.

They're a parody on the UK indie music scene.

Nice stating of the blindingly obvious there.

HMHB are great. I don't usually like 'funny' bands, but, well, they're great. This destroyed me when I heard it on Peel.
