I love melodic punk
I dig on descendents/all, screeching weasel, operation Ivy, etc. Just never felt the vibe from Bad Religion. Nevre liked social Distortion either. two bands that sound nothing alike and have nothing in common! ha!

You all have no idea about how many people I've met who worship Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, and Social Distortion.
They also love wearing gaudy fedora hats. |

they've got a somewhat distinct tone and style all the way down to the singing.... but good god, does every song sound just like the last.... especially the singing.
they used to find their way into play on the radio station I listened to back in the day.... mid 90's. I remember them, can't say I miss them.

Never heard them before today and I find this the most accurate statement about the band and I've listen to cuts from 4 different albums

i will admit that i have only listened to their first three albums. so I'm not really going to say if they're good or if they suck. but so far.. I'm having a hard time enjoying it because i dont like the singer that much. i need to listen to the other albums though and even listen to the first three albums again.. because sometimes i have a hard time getting into something by just listening to it once. i have a friend who is obsessed with them so maybe she can help me get into them more.. but i really dont like the singer..

Anyone heard their totally out of print lp Into The Unknown? They went hard rock/synth in '83 then bounced back cuz everyone hated it. It's fascinating and hilarious at the stylistic 180 they did for a short while. Check some songs on youtube from it...f'n wykid keyboard solos!
(I was a fan of Against the Grain and Generator a long time ago...Recipe For Hate made me lose interest entirely.) |

Chout, you posted nearly the exact same msg on page 2, haha.
But yeah, it's a fun album. Love how the next ep was called "Back to the known". |

nice, Im outta touch here. I though this was a new thread!
I just found a couple live tracks from that album without the keyboards...not so drastic sounding without the synths. |
