They were really awesome. They rocked everything out pretty hard. I wasn't a fan of In Prism, but the stuff sounds really good live, it feels a lot faster. Some guy said after the show that he listened to Polvo in high school and he came for a nostalgia thing, and he just didn't feel it. wtf. Why go to a show for nostalgia? I go for the music. Shrug. |

Did they play much of the older stuff? Maybe he didn't really get into it because he wanted to hear Channel Changer and instead got stuck with a bunch of In Prism songs.
I'd love to see Polvo. I'd be into whatever they played.

Damn, I'd KILL to see Polvo live. Doesn't really matter on the set like Mecha said, Polvo would rock regardless.
What was the set? ~Jeremy~

I still stand by that I'd be cool with whatever the Polvo set was like, but I will admit this:
If they didn't play Bridesmaid Blues I'd be fucking pissed.

I have a few live performances of Bridesmaid Blues from various shows, and they always seemed to do it instrumentally, which is a shame since the melody kicks ass. (For the record I still can't make out the last part of the lyrics..... I hear it as "Stars aligned bursting high so she finds me" but it's so hard to make out the vocals)
Then again as far as I know there are quite a number of Polvo songs never done live, but live Polvo isn't exactly the easiest thing to find, so I don't really know 100%. ~Jeremy~

I saw Polvo at the 10 Years ATP last year. The 5 minutes I witnessed were the most soul-crushingly tedious I experienced all weekend. I left and tried to blank it from my memory so that Lightning Bolt would instead be left as a much more suitable closer to the festival.

I can't remember exactly, but I know they did Feather of Forgiveness, Beggar's Bowl, DD SR, Fast Canoe, Bombs that Fall From Your Eyes, and Lazy Comet. I think they did Thermal Treasure and Tile Breaker as well, and there was some other In Prism stuff. I got utterly lost in the music a lot, so that's why it is hard to remember. Plus I suck at remembering song titles. I turn on albums and listen to them and rarely look at the titles.

Haha, well you remember more than me. I know most of that first stanza and that's about it. But listening to the end, it sounds like you're right about what he's saying. I always enjoyed that about Polvo that the vocals are mixed roughly at the same level as the music. Sure it makes the lyrics hard to hear, but I'm not really a lyric person in the first place. And Spectral, I hope they did do Tilebreaker, that's another I'd love to hear. Based on those tracks you can remember it seems like it was a pretty good show.

I saw them at Primavera this year, and they were at the very least tied for best thing there. Just outrageously great. By the end I had pretty much gone into a state of shock.

Hey Spectral, did Versus open for them? Or is that the upcoming tour dates?
And yeah, totally agree with Mecha. Seeing Ash do the riff to Tilebreaker would be epic. ~Jeremy~

Dave said in an interview that the chances of them doing any Cor-Crane Secret songs (or even more of Today's Active Lifestyles) are slim since they don't really have any of those guitars left, he said he doesn't think they could recapture the sound properly.
Bummer. ~Jeremy~

Yeah, I know. I have a few 92 shows where they do most of Cor-Crane and a few early TAL songs, and it sounds incredible. I wish they'd bring that stuff back, but their sets these days are still pretty great.
The only TAL stuff I know that is still in their sets are Thermal Treasure, Lazy Comet, and Tilebreaker. They sometimes jam on Stinger (Five Wigs), but they don't play it too often. No Cor-Crane secret songs are in the set lists since they've returned, and I doubt we'll get any anytime soon. ~Jeremy~
