Seriously check out Nazareno el Violento (http://www.myspace.com/nazarenoelviolento .) they have a chaotic bent that's in between Daughters and Converge.

been listening to the locust a lot lately. They're ridiculous now but back when I was 13 they were oine of my favorite bands, them and dillinger escape plan (I still think calculating infinity is one of the best albums ever) really got me into weird fast complex music. I remember being on icq and I told some guy I wanted some good screamy keyboard music and he sent me the first locust ep at like .5k/sec on a 28k modem hahaha. It was badass though!
I am actually listening to PLAGUE SOUNDSCAPES and FLIGHT right now and love them. NEW ERECTIONS has some really mindblowing parts but it's kinda awful too. Otherwise been listening to a lot of Mohinder (who were pretty weird and had some GREAT guitar lines... really really sloppy, loose band whose weird instrumentation occasionally reminded me of no wave band Mars, strangely enough), Jerome's Dream, and OBEY REPTAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1.. Cobra Kai. Also been rocking HEROIN and Angel Hair. Trying to find a complete GRAVITY RECORDS discog but can't. |

man, the 2nd song on jane doe is amazing. there's this part about 2 minutes in where everything stops but the guitar in one speaker, which runs through this trremolo picked riff and then the drums that kick in there are, like, the best ever. |

Man, I am listening to the angel hair discography right now and I just want to mention them again. There was something different about this band. They got that vss 21:51 vibe going on at times, actually (pretty sure they share members), as well as ink and dagger (has anyone mentioned them yet? get "FINE ART OF ORIGINAL SIN" .. http://www.mediafire.com/?isw8wz11v2t ... they sound a lot like angel hair with weirder riffs and REALLY weird structures, there's a breakdown in one song where all the members laugh for about a minute straight in one song! Super weird riffing, songs constantly breaking down and completely changing.. weird band).

It's borderline emo, but closer to a nirvana precursor / 80's punk band.
...SQUIRREL BAIT. These guys are fucking rocking. Some say they that along with Rites of Spring, they were one of the originating emo bands. They're super Husker Du ish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe5_bk8If10 Download --> http://www.google.ca/search?q=site%3...ient=firefox-a |

Yeah squirrel bait are like post punk. Musically at times they remind me of HUSKER DU. *edit:* Okay, you mentioned Husker du., I just hit reply as soon as I saw you mention squirrel bait, heheh.
Led by david Grubbs from Bastro (who I LOVE -- one of the best drummers ever in that band), Gastr Del Sol, and his surprisingly underrated (considering its IMMENSE quality) solo career. |

Angel Hair is amazing. I'm not sure if Mohinder or Assfactor 4 have been mentioned, but they're also great.
On the Ink and Dagger tip, I haven't heard anything past their demo, but the Ultra Dolphins are fucking awesome. |

Has Shotmaker been mentioned? Totally brilliant and hardly ever discussed.
