So apparently he's been found guilty of drug and weapon charges and faces up to 15 years to life in prison.
How long before we hear cries of "Free Buju!"? http://music.fiweh.com/image.php?ban...ode=song_image |

so they finally got him eh? He should be grateful, those same duppy spooks had Peter Tosh killed over similar misunderstandings. Buju is being silenced for fucking with the wrong people, Lord Have His Mercy at least he is still alive, and many many brothers in Rastafari have been martyred for less.. still, fyah burn down babylon, it is no surprise to us to get gaffled up like this, and we are not afraid them!

Uh... but Buju's hardly squeaky clean, is he? I mean, Western liberal media bias against Buju aside, he's not someone I'd have over for tea and cake. I'd have man like Sizzla, but not Buju.

Neither was Peter.. Revolutionaries are often affiliated with shady gangsters and drug dealers, when your underground that is the infrastructure you have to deal with. Duppy spooks (as we call em, bag-o-wire) infiltrate since HH Marcus Garvey and set us up for fall.. it is an occupational hazard. I don't believe buju was dealing coke and running guns (that is not to say that I couldn't believe it) as much as he was running with dealers and gun runners and was set up accordingly..

from bushman's newish peter tosh covers album, he plays really close to the originals but soft and MOR. bushman is a good vocalist and close in sound to tosh, but he's a bit passionless and never vocally approaches the red eyed anti-colonial fervor that tosh managed to keep happening for years at any rate buju singing peter is always worth a quick listen, and new material may be scarce for a while |
