not judging anyone but a lot of people here have the idea that a certain band can only be listened to a specific set of people when it's not really that radical of a notion that people from all backgrounds probably enjoy swans.

Name those people please. It would make it much easier since bands like SY and Swans are popular enough to attract a varied crowd, so you have to the take the bad with the good instead of generalising all the time.
