i should have known that, i love all that 60s surf-rock stuff the trashmen invented it, joey ramone perfected it, and carrie brownstein destroyed it forever

^^^LOL at above comment (The Trahsmen rule, too). Not a "band" per se, but I liked the drum and bass duo Kemistry and Storm, who were going in the 90's. I saw them do a DJ set at this festival in Finsbury Park just over 10 years ago, and they were really ace. Rest In Peace, DJ Kemistry.

Listening to a Phil Spector boxed set, it was the Ronettes that blew my mind with the biggest mushroom cloud. Not sure if that counts, although when the Wrecking Crew was the band, there was female bassist.
--- Is it obvious to mention The Raincoats? Yet, I rarely hear mention of their second, Odyshape or their third, Moving. Come to think of it, some dudes play on the later two. Still. Odyshape kind of reminds me of PIL's Flowers, and I think it's a bit better. |

I've been digging on Warpaint and Savages the past few years.

Today I was in the mood to listen to some good, new (or new to me) all female bands, so did a bit of searching online to see if I could find something. I found a article on Billboard of 20 all female bands to listen to. Only one band stood out to me and that was Advaeta. After watching some live stuff on youtube I went and bought their album Death and the Internet. Cool fuzz rock My Bloody Valentine style (at least to me) that's what it reminded me of. Sadly, after all that I went to find more current status on them and they say they are on an "indefinite break".
