It's at times like this that the television news media really start to piss me off. This morning the breakfast TV channels were competing to see who could provide the most "exciting" coverage. BBC, who should have more respect, were hovering above the crash site in a helicopter saying "and here you can see where the skid started... here you can see where the car left the track... here you can see the gouges in the grass where the car went over and over... and here is where the car came to rest...". Sick bastards.

Well I didn't mind Top Gear, I thought it had some cool stuff on it sometimes but Brainiac is horrible. Everytime I have the misfortune of seeing it as I flick through channels they are blowing up a car. It is not brainy at all, it's for mentally retarded people

I can't say the guy didn;'t know what he was doing. But when yr in a rocket car that goes 300 miles per hour, you have to be able to accept what happens when the shit hits the fan.

yeah, he knew the risk but that doesnt make the situation any better. same as a footballer getting badly injured or something. risk is inherent with all forms of motorsports and speed but when an accident of this magnitude happens it still is awful, especially for whos left behind. i believe tho richard possibly was motivated to accept this challenge due to his passion for speed and cars, his eagerness, his desire to please himself although i question the bbc for allowing him to do so as surely driving at 300+mph requires certain training let alone its powered by a jet engine. thats why i reckon the bbc are shitting it at the moment.... all of that said, it doent make richard better or ease the pain for the family and friends.
any motorsport fans on here care to share an opinion? |
