yes it's a valve junior, it's good for his price! It's good and loud to play in a small room. I replaced the tubes with a couple of JJ cause they didnt worked and I replaced the spk with a ceramic Jensen 8'' but that tiny amp sounds better with a 10''. I play it even with 2x 8''. then I added even an hi-input cause this amp sounds 'british' and I'd prefer a Fender sound, more rich of hi-gain and shrill.

i prefer the valve head then the valve combo though. if you add biger speakers its gets louder. i think that amp is made for modding

I've been looking at the Epi valve junior head. I don't know how loud it is, but i have a feeling it might be loud enough for super small shows where I have to turn my amp down so low I might as well have an amp that small. Maybe I'll bring my 2x12 to GC sometime and try one out.

But it can only push 5 watts right? But apparently tube amps are louder than solid state. Guitar amp wattage volume deals make no sense to me.

it's just 5watts into 4om but a loud volume is still good around 12 and it works good even with one or more distortions that push it around to 10 watts I think..
I ran it even into 2x 12 AlNiCo Jensen but it's too much for that tiny amp in my opinion. definitely very louder compared to a 20 watts transistors that's ab other kind of sound, good for something anyway.

Hipertonic, I read that article on moog site. crazy! but I like his guitar alot, I have no heard their last 3 albums thought. I know JFrusciate used just 4 pedals for californication and he had a great sound but even dururing the early 90s he got a very good sound for me.

ah thought the same but ....even if I have no heard his last records I can say his style is so wide that he could play into everything and got the best. He changes 'world' so quickly into his music that it's awesome for me even because he does that into songs!
