I'm going to wait till it comes out to hear it. The people who have said there's something special about waiting for an album are right, especially when it's one of your favourite bands. You know when you go to the music store, pick the album up, gawk at the sleeve on the way home.... open the cd player, throw it in, watch it spin and hear the music for the first time. I just sit back and take it in..... I still remember exactly what I was doing when I heard Murray St. and Sonic Nurse for the first time. Pretty sad.
I dont have a big issue with downloading music though, if I download something I really dig, I'll buy it anyway. The one thing I'll never understand is people buying MP3's. They're just buying some random binary bits... nothing can equal having an actual cd in your hands. |

CDs are not special to me. i may download but i will definitely buy the vinyl which is hopefully being released by Smells Like Records. David Geffen can suck my cock.

when nurse got leaked i didn't download it, i waited 2 or 3 months for it to come out. had i listened to it when it was leaked i could have saved my self some excited anticipation followed indifference and thus disappointment. |

"excited anticipation followed indifference and thus disappointment" - I think you'll find that the technical term for that is "life".

downloading the album would just add to the large pile of music i need to catch up on. i think i'll give myself some time to get through what i already have, so by the time i finish the album should be just about ready to come out.
besides, i don't download sonic youth unless it's a bootleg of a live show. |

what happened to waiting till a record comes out?You walk into a shop, you turn right, then left and there it is,your adored band's new record screaming for attention and love. You lift it up,hold it in your hand and go to the counter to pay for it without being able to control the excitement of going back home, have a drink and enjoy the record in complete silence
