I'm just wondering if its worth it to get a ticket and bring my recorder...I know SY is fine with it but did anyone deal with pool security last year?
I'm not sure if there's a bigger bunch of selfimportant unwarranted fucking useless assholes as rocknroll security fucks, especially in NYC. |

Rapeman were funny. I think too many people miss the humour in Albini's work. Oh and they shredded too (I think that's the right word).

I was at that gig with Rapeman and Die Kreuzen. I heard that Albini let off a stinkbomb on the stage just as SY came on. Great gig.

I know this will sound like something that I made up, but did Albini also throw stinkbombs during the encore, and they tied him up with guitar cords, and possibly whipped him? I remember some sort of kerfuffle involving him during the encore, but those details seem so ridiculous that I can't be sure that some of it doesn't come from out of my imagination.

I've definitely read about that tying albini up thing before, maybe in that final big black tour diary or in the confusion is sex book.
Anyway, i hope there will be some interesting support acts at the london gigs, preferably even different bands for every gig. |

I know stinkbombs were involved but whether it was for the main set or the encore. I don't know. I remember members of all the bands coming out at the end to do a cover of (I think) I Wanna be Your Dog and that someone was wrestling with Albini but my memory is fading as to the details. For some reason though, I do recall Albini going on some long speil about looking for Derek and Clive albums and the singer in Die Kreuzen calling someone in the audience a 'cunt' and thinking it sounded funny with an American accent.

I don't remember anything about Die Kreuzen at all. When the gig was first announced there was only one date, and the flyers (which I think were given to us at the Throwing Muses / Pixies show a few months earlier) showed that it be SY supported by Rapeman and Dino Jr. I quite rightly pissed myself with excitement, and felt very let down when this band Die Kreuzen turned up instead so I didn't bother to take much notice of them.
I wish I'd have kept that flyer, that would have been some seriously cool shit to be showing off right now. |

Dino Jr. are at Reading the weekend before SY play in London...maybe they will stick around and open for them. That would be amazing.
