I was about to buy 2 tickets for the sacramento show off tickets.com, and then it brought me to the shipping page and the cheapest shipping method it shows costs $15.50 for certified mail!!!!! And thats on top of the $3 order processing charge and the $10 convenience fee! This makes the cost for two tickets a total of no less than $78.50!!! Is this right? I kinda want to wait before I buy the tix to be sure because that is fucking outrageous. Literally worse than ticketmaster. Anyone come across this?

Thats weird. They only charged me $5.50. Make sure it says regular shipping through the post office.

Really? Hmm. It said certified mail for $15.50 and thats how it showed up in the total price. Im pissed off and confused now because I keep trying and it keeps giving me the same options. I guess I'll just keep trying.

Yeah, this is complete bullshit. Everytime I try it wants to charge me $15.50 for certified mail (through the post office). And as much as I want to see Sonic Youth, I refuse to pay that much. I contacted the venue and asked them if I could buy tix through them so hopefully I'll have another option. But Im curious: am I the only one being charged this rediculous amount?

That really sucks. I tried the tickets.com website too and I had the same thing, $78.50 for 2 tickets. Not to gloat, but I can get tickets for $25 a piece without any additional fee at The Beat, the local indie record store here. I called them but they only sell the tickets there, they don't do phone orders. Maybe I could do someone a favor a get a ticket or 2 for them.....

I'm wondering if this show is going to sell out before the night of the show...I'm guessing it will since this is the only California headlining date they're doing and this place seems fairly small. Ahhh this is killing me!
Does anybody know if their planning on doing any more CA dates without Pearl Jam?? |

Ok so I emailed the venue a few days ago and got this response:
Hello, You can order the Sonic Youth tickets from our independant outlets. We sell thru Dimple Records (they have 5 regional locations, call first to verify location has tickets,) The Beat, located in downtown Sac, or Armadillo CD's In Davis. Armadillo sells over the phone for face value then forwards your name and # of tickets to us, for will call. Armadillo Cd's: 530-758-8058 The Beat: 916-446-4402 Dimple (Arden) 925-2600 So I ended up ordering from Armadillos today, and the guy I spoke to said you actually have to come pick them up at the store; they dont forward it to the box office like the email said. There were still a few extra charges so it ended up being $56 for two tickets...not bad at all. So I guess I'll have to make an extra stop the day of the show, but no big deal. Hopefully this will help some of you out that were in my dilema. |

Armadillos isn't far off the freeway so it shouldn't be much of a drag for you on the way. Anyone else - The Beat isn't far from the Empire if you can work something out with them over the phone. Plus you can grab a bite next door before heading down to the show (Empire is not in the best area, don't leave your expensive crap in the car!) See ya all in our cow town!

Well, when you pick up the tickets at Armadillo, you'll be in Davis, which has a lot of nice little places. There's Thai Bistro, Crepeville (if you're into crepes), New Delhi Chaat Cafe for Indian, Cafe Mediterranean....just walk around Davis and you'll find something you like. If you eat in Sacramento, hmm.....Taka Sushi is pretty good, the Crepeville in Sacramento (if you're into crepes)
