These days, the punk aesthetic has taken over more than just looks and cultural attitude, its invaded the aspect of housing. "Punk housing", as its otherwise referred to, is best defined as groups of people living together in "anarchical glory" for an extremely low cost of living. This style of living is celebrated in the new book, Punk House. Distributed by Abrams Image, Punk House is a celebration of the punk rock lifestyle as displayed by the homes of its devotees.
Featuring an introduction by Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, the book is filled with intimate photos of the essential and oftentimes chaotic elements that make up their home environments. With photos by Abby Banks and editorial help from Moore, Punk House will be released in December of this year. Perfect holiday timing for all of the punks in your life. http://www.filter-mag.com/index.php?id=15641&c=1 (Moshe: You're definitely slipping... ) |

The cool thing is, though, that the title of this thread made me start blasting screeching weasel - punk house. |

Punk housing? I love that it says "nowadays". Punk is dead. Everyone knows that.

Agreed, sway.. for fuck's sake, Michael Stipe was more of a punk than Thurston Moore!
I mean, some guy cut his glued-together mohawk spikes and fucked him up the ass with it in the 80's and gave him aids with it! How punk is that? |
