I recently saw that Geoff Mullen, an artist who I particularly like, is supposed to be touring in Europe in the Spring, but there were no dates listed so I emailed his American promoter to ask for details. The reply that I got was, yes, there is a tour planned, but nothing fixed yet, were there any venues that I would recommend?
Now I'm very keen to see Geoff play, so anything that I can do to help make sure that this tour goes ahead (short of promoting it!), I will. So, a question for you European concert-goers: What really good small (say, 250 capacity, maybe) venues are there in your locality that you'd recommend? |

Le Grand Mix, Tourcoing (near Lille), France
EDIT: actually it's 650 people, so that's not exactly what you wanted |

Point éphémère in Paris is a great venue. I'm not sure of its capacity but it is 1400 square metres.
L'atelier Tampon gallery is a very, very small but fastastic space on Rue Jules Valles M. Charonne. The couple who run it are lovely, maybe too lovely, and if they haven't closed down the venue is the basement of a small gallery, and i'm sure they would welcome somebody like Geoff Mullen with open arms. White Out played there with Nels Cline in 2006. Who was that guy who posted on here a couple of times about a mini festival in paris with people like Sunburned and Keith Fullerton Whitman? I'm sure if you got into contact with that guy he would help you out with Paris venues.... EDIT - it was called the Ali-Fib fest. Here is the man's myspace www.myspace.com/alifibgigs. i'm not really sure about any other cities, but people will be along soon to help you out no doubt.

galeria zé dos bois
not the prettiest venue, but it's the right place for him to play if he is just passing by. |

Fluc is always free (Sunburned Hand of the Man played there!), unlike fluc_wanne, which is in fact the same venue. I also like the Rhiz. |
