what about us irish.. we are an island and we are the worst drinkers in europe. we have the highest units of alcohol consumption per capita in the world!! its almost in our heritage to become alcoholics.. and irish people are very inhibited........ it is slowly changing but by in large we are a very inhibited race ...... sidenote... the republic is not part of great britain or the uk. |

Wow about the units per capita. Never been to Ireland but never thought they were inhibited but what you say fits my theory. |

as i said its changing but ireland can be extremely backward in many ways especially outside the cities.. or moreso outside dublin.....
yknow.. its not that long ago when i was in school.... about 15 years ago or so if you saw a coloured/african... for want of a better word... black person in the town of wexford.... people would point and stare and go "look at him" and make snide comments etc.. we just didnt have anything like that. i remember it clearly an african family moved in next door to my granny in wexford town... SCANDAL!!!!!!!! now, every second house has a african family in it and the vast majority of them are the nicest folk you will ever meet... the wankers are the fucking locals!!!!! i really hope that didnt come accross as bad, just trying to get my point accross... |

What I think is funny is tht Japana dn England are both island nation sbut they do not live on "Island" time like the tropical pacfic and caribbean peoples do! Puerto Ricans are straight up island time.
