It was literally in a little suburban area of New Hampshire. Like a residential neighborhood, the concert was in a church. It was JUST the Butthole Surfers. Theresa, Gibby, King, Paul, Jeff. No Paul Green School of Rock kids. They played for a little over an hour and a half. It was a small little place, the whole floor was a mass of drunk/stoned sweaty people shoulder to shoulder. I ran up on the stage and grabbed the setlist when they left at the end. I actually have it right here in front of me. It reads:
22
Fast Suicide 100 Some Dispute Goofy To Parter Colored FBI Graveyard Dust Devil Rocky Cowboy Bob Cherub Sweatloaf XRAY Gary Floyd Jimi ??? looks like cactus with a d on the end, the song was the 2nd half of jimi Shah Amazing concert of course. Very intimate show, I was 5 feet from them the whole time being shoved and thrown around. Only weird thing was they shortened a few of their songs, 100 million people dead was only like 3 mins. Amazing show, the highlight of my year. Going to see them again tomorrow in NYC because I am crazy and they are pretty much my favorite band along with Sonic Youth. Horray for Butthole Surfers |

Now that is what I am talking about. How did they play (as in a regular band or like the old school BHS)?

Stone Church, Newmarket? I had moved to Boston from Durham the year before...I tried to put on gigs there but they only did over 21....back in teh day buttholes never played all ages where I could get to so I didn't pay them much attention whereas SST bands always played all ages shows in new england.
