hes finally signed to warp records. and there is a huge buzz around his track called "township funk" read his second myspace blog to see all te uotes about it.
after I listened to it first I thought, what the fuck, thats boring and just too naive. but it starts to get me hooked. and I listen to that damn track multiple times a day. anybody else? http://www.myspace.com/mujava |

yes i dig it like hell at the moment. its really addictive, but I am not sure why. the bleepy melody sounds totally outdated. the drums are grainy but the rythm is that typical african rythm I cant stand for long, most of the time. the only thing which is a sure shot is the dark synth line. but it never changes its there all the time without any chnages.
and I think the remix on his side is the best proof that there must be something special about the original tune, cause the remix would never hook me |

strange tune, the bass synth is 3/4 of the cure's 'a forest' bass line, which has been recycled endlessly (don't know if the cure was first to use it, probably not). Timeless rif but this track doesn't seem so special?

thats exactly the thing. objectively it isnt special at all. everythings been there before and maybe way better (technically) but this damn track seems to hook a lot of people, even the ones where Ive thought they would never get hooked by this kind of music.
and no I dont think an album is finished so far. but I think I will check it out if it will be released |
