it's getting slagged off all over the internet, you multi-lingual posters. maybe the world finally came to realise that music with no heart or soul is a waste of time.

i think that's the only thing i will like about this album. my computer is still broke so i can't dl it and i doubt i would dl ac anyway. there's no way in hell i would ever buy an ac album, so i will most likely never hear this.

say what you will, but the part in bold is just wrong... i don't see how you could know more about them than i do... but if you do, how did you find out they have no heart?

As much as I disagree with Rob on this particular album, he's right. Music evokes a feeling, and if it doesn't sound right to you, it just doesn't. No big deal.

I used to feel the exact same way about them. After giving them a lot of chances, though, melodies that came across as annoying to me the first few times suddenly seemed welcome and I found their music to have some pretty interesting texture to it. Weird thing. It's very rare that I give a band I despise a lot of chances either, but it worked with Beefheart, so I guess good things happen sometimes.

I can definitely understand where yr coming from, though. Even if I like them now, a lot of their stuff indeed does lack soul.

Yeah, but Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band are the greatest band of all time. So, I could see giving them infinite number of chances... but AC? I dunno. I like them, but really, they're just a melodically-pleasing pop band with experimental structures and production. Not really that big of a deal. I wouldn't give em a bunch of chances, life's too short; you can be listening to OUR BROTHER THE NATIVE instead...
