I agree, I prefer to suck it up than to take medicine for my colds.

I saw this commercial on TV the other day telling people not to take as much cold medicine because viruses are becoming immune haha.

The best thing to do is keep yourself very warm all the time. Seriously.
When you get a fever, it's your body trying to "burn off" the virus. Almost like sterilization with boiling water.
Go to bed with socks, mits and a tuque on (or a warm hat, that is). Let the "burning sensation" be a good feeling.

I have also always found Rod Stewart to be particularly unattractive, even in his younger days.
I don't think you look like Thom Yorke much at all aside from very general things like a thin frame and angular features.
