Look, just because you're an American doesn't mean that everyone else is. Just because people don't dance into your field of vision doesn't mean it doesn't happen, or isn't relevent in general. Same with musical theatre. Same with lyric poetry. Same with dageurrotypes, alchemy, opera, l'estampies, mummers, Rosacrucian societies, camera obscura...

The public consciousness has fuck all to do with art. Mercifully. What I'm saying is that if more than one person does it, it's culturally relevent.
