Hull is the best city in the UK for getting laid and using the words 'scutter' and 'twocker'. Otherwise I'm at a loss for its merit. I voted Stokey, because I looked at many a house there and always failed to move in.

it totally depends on what area you live in, what the place is like and how lucky you are. |

Well, what's your share of the rent? And how many people do you live with?
I'll be moving next week and I'm gonna live in a two-room apartment with one flatmate at least the first year. It's quite tiny place and I have to pay about £170 a month, which is expensive. Of course the financial support for students cover the majority of that during semester. I now live in an apartment owned by a relative so I get it for insanely cheap, otherwise the rent is somewhere around £385. This is of the same size than the place I'm moving to. |

well unless you wanted to live in an exceptionally dodgy neighbourhood in london (which you don't) then i'd say there's no way you'd be able pay £170/month. most students i know pay in the region £70 or £80/week. that is if you want to live fairly centrally. the person i know paying the least rent pays £60/week, but she lives on top of a pub and has no insulating so the noise leeks through.
actually i know someone how was living in one of the nastiest parts of london and he was paying £30/week and had rats that would come into his room while he was sleeping and stuff. |
