does anyone have any good methods for combating or curing a cold?

Cures depend on how strong your immune system is,i suppose.It changes from person to person.

It's a fucking virus.

You can't cure it.

Don't smoke as much. Drink orange juice. Take dayquil and nyquil.

Don't bother with Sudafed, it's a waste of time

Don't bother with Night Nurse, it'll make you drowsy all the next day.

Day Nurse helped alleviate the symptoms. So did a mix of honey, lemon juice and hot water (with whisky added at night time).

i'm not taking any drugs for it, i want some half-baked/esoteric/home remedy/traditional folklore/urban myth type *cures*

yes, any sort of thing that isn't about taking medicine because that stuff is all a con

cures involving alcohol are ideal (noted your whiskey one)

It helps to have a hot shower twice a day, drink lemon tea/soup, and fall asleep on the couch with the tv on.
