Does anyone actually like this song? I love Washing Machine, but have never been able to like this track at all. I just think that, had this song not been included on the album, Washing Machine would have been perfect.

I thought it was so adorable when I heard it three years ago. Kim Deal's girlie, sweet vocal performance nearly moved me to tears. Since then, though, the novelty's worn off.

I used to really dislike when I first got the album, mostly because the kid in the video freaked me out and I never got over it, BUT;
I think now that it's as good as any other song on the album (except the title track and the diamond sea). Sure, it's not completely 'sonic' in all the standard SY ways, but it's still a fucking awesome song. The guitars are far out and the double vocals are so sweet... it's pretty surreal overall and thats whats good about it. |

interesting departure, i dont think it works but its a good idea to revise the harmony centred sound with 2 female singers who dont really sing in a traditionally harmonic way. the songs too weak to carry it though.

Junkies Promise is a mssively annoying song, were it not for that the first half of washing machine would flow nicely

i don't really think there's a bad song on "washing machine". "little trouble girl" doesn't really fit the album, but i still like it as a song.

i like little troubler, with it's 60's girl group references/homages/deconstructions. junkeez promise should have been a b-side. if i remember correct they used to play it live, and i wished they had skipped it for anything else on that record.

i don't like it. my copy of washing machine is scratched and luckily only on that song. my copy of daydream nation is also scratched on the only song i don't like, total trash...still looking forward to the remasters though, so i can listen to it without skipping...

Little Trouble Girl was actually the song that drawn my attention to Sonic Youth and made me pick up Washing Machine CD at a store down the street.
So I'm pretty thankful, although the song itself is not that great.
