are you an ambitious person? i mean do you have a drive to succeed in a certain thing? have your ambitions changed from when you where younger?

I can't claim to be ambitious, I've always just let life take me where it takes me. I know it would be good for me to have a life plan, something to aim to succeed at, but I just don't seem to be that type of person.

Yes and no and certainly not in the way that i was when younger.I am ambitious but not in that sort of ''Let's make lot of money kinda way and i want to rule the world''.I have the ambition of wanting to create something good and be happy with it, that's enough for me.

I wear odd socks, only shave for weddings and funerals and still think The Ramones 'matter'. As such, no, I don't have any ambition - or dignity for that matter.

i am not ambitious to make lots of money or climb some kind of social ladder/property market. with music i have drive and ambition in some regards but not in others. its strange i find my ambition comes and goes so much over a week.

I think ambition to be successful by other people's values is a dangerous thing, it leads to vanity and a selfish attitude. Ambition to succeed according to ones own values is a good thing, as it helps to give a life a structure of sorts.

if i am talking to someone and they seem to be really ambitious i tend to not want to talk to them anymore. i dont know i think maybe the people i have spoken to seemed only interested in self satisfaction and power tripping. a balance of ambtion and a concience are a difficult match it would seem.

i'm about the least ambitious person i know and it will probably stop me from ever achieving aything.

It's when people seem only motivated by shallowness and money-making that it really puts me off them.I don't generally think that that it is a good and fullfilling way to spend your life but if someone does, good luck to them.

1. The I-will-succeed-regardless-of-what-at-and-how type. Stand up Gwen Steffani

2. The I'm-committed-to-what-I-do-and-intend-for-it-to-be-successful type.
Stand up any well adjusted person.

There's probably a fine line to be trod, though, between being happy with your achievements and wanting others to share in them, and being self-satisfied and lording it over others because you've achieved more than them.

i often wonder what sort of life someone like that has/had and if they are really truly satisfied with anything or if there is always something else to achieve?

Any seriously sane person who has a crumb of positive ambition in them would know that one of the best things of achieving something is to also share it with others.It's a bit with being competitive:there are ways to be positively competitive without being an egomaniac with the only intention of sitting themselves on a throne while looking down on people.That involves a certain amount of serious mental problems to do.

The older I am, the less ambitious I get...I mean,I am still only three years after having gotten my master's and know still shit about life, but I guess I've got to the point where I realize there are more important things in life like being "successful" and "up-the-ladder" in your career. Such as, being content and not let your career drive you nuts. Enjoy life. Slow down. Love somebody. That is my ambition. I hope I'll succeed in this one day.

yep, slavo agree. but also because my work doesnt fullfill me. i use it for getting the paycheck and be able to live.

isnt that like living a life of sin and then recanting on your death bed?
