I would like to have an avatar next to my name and I cannot seem to upload it.

I've been trying several times, and I looked at FAQ.

Here's my approach:

I found a picture off the internet. I saved it to my computer. I made sure it was small enough and did not have too many pixels. I went to the add avatar portion. I browsed and found the picture. I got rejected for an "invalid file" on the three different pictures I tried.

you can only use gif or jpg files of the specified dimensions.

It's still not working... how do I turn a file into a jpeg or gif? Can you give me a process to follow?

You should be able to rightclick on the image, then choose to 'save as'. Before confirming save, at the bottom of the box that appears asking where to save it to, you should be able to insert a new name and a file type.

I have a different problem.

I wanted to hyperlink a custom avatar from a different board, it was small enough, regarding size and pixels. but when I tried to make it work, I always got the message about error in writing a temporary file or something like that.

can anybody help me out w/this?

slavo, how are you doing?

You should be able to follow the same poceedure. Then use the option to upload directly from your PC. I ad avatar problems too, but the direct upload worke fine.
