Many, many years ago, until the day (in 1980 it was), that my skateboard flew into the path of an oncoming bread van in Croydon. I was not a happy bunny, and even less when my stepdad pointed out that it was my own bloody fault.
Also - when I lived in Milton Keynes in the late 70's, it was the thing to skate down a metal children's slide at maximum speed, especially when the slide was wet. I'm afraid I was far too much of a coward to attempt this , also I broke my arm in the mid 70's in a "no hands on the handlebar" cycling accident, so I wasn't in a hurry to repeat that injury.

I've been to Australia twice and i skated a couple of spot's whilst i was there, it was incredible! As for the heat, you should think yourself lucky, it's raining most of the time in England. |

I've done that! Hearing you're skateboard snap under a car wheel is possibly the worst sound ever. |

Yes! the South Bank's considered one of the best skate spot's in England, my mates went up the other day but i couldnt make it. Most british pro's skate their apparently, I would love to go one day. Do you live nearby then? |

I was gonna make a(nother) skate thread recently for this
Daewon Song round three: http://youtube.com/watch?v=wOcLDUUaUCo I never skate anymore since I fractured my elbow at a concrete park hanging up on a boardslide around the bowl. |

jimbrim - I live in Clapham, which is a pleasant walk away from the South Bank. Mucho skateboard action happening right now.

used to.
my favourite skaters were Andrew Reynolds, Ali Bouala, Jim Greco.. my fav vid was Real to Reel. recently have been impressed by the skating of Jerry Hsu. I live near Livingston, home to one of the largest outdoor skateparks in Europe. It's a beauty of a park, apparently John Cardiel's favourite park ever. |

recently have been impressed by the skating of Jerry Hsu. [quote] I was just about to write that! his style is so smooth. I've been skating for about 6 years, although i don't skate as much as i used to. The scene's starting to die out where i live. |

I don't do it so much anymore, I hurt my knee but I had fun when I did it, I already posted this pick a while ago but this is me being marginally gnarly...
