and now i feel empty.
but i don't know why. i tend to always feel empty after a birthday party, after some kind of social reunion i guess. a social reunion in which there are people from completely different places but whom with i have lots of fun. but i feel empty. how did you feel after your very first show or after every show you've played?

How long did you play ? Sorry I don't remember how I was after my first (up until now) real gig. I guess it's normal to feel empty, especially if the show was long. In addition the brain is flooded with adrenaline and endorphines in those circumstances, so going back to "normal life" all of a sudden can feel weird. |

we played for around an hour.
then we got kind of kicked out the stage because some other band was next. the place was crowded. it was really nice, but it felt terrible when it ended. i'm the only one who felt like that in the band, i think. the rest are used to playing. but i never really took any of my musical projects to the stage. this is the first structured band i've played in. depends on the size of the house and how much the audience appreciate the show, sometimes you get an audience like a morgue which then sucks other times they are rockin which makes your performance step up a few notches then all ist good. although in my line of performances you are usually doing a season of about 28 shows and you can crash hardish once that is all done with unless you have another to go straight to after....

I hate shows because I'm lugging all my stuff around and constantly afraid that it is going to get damaged or broken. So I mostly feel tense and paranoid. After I get everything home, then I feel empty. |

I know how you feel. I get that same empty feeling after every show I perform. Sometimes during the last song I will get it because I know it's going to end. It sucks.

well since everything you were doing before the show was for the show then when the show is over it's like you have nothing else to do, and your brain misses the excitement/motivation/etc. or/and if you're an introverted person who gets their energy from being alone, being in a crowd drains you & you have to recharge after. sleep is good. i often get "peopled out" & have to lock myself up in my fortress of solitude. ha. no, really. |
