Maybe Lou will call him out for an encore and they can do a duet medley of "Kill Yr. Idols/Kill Your Sons"!

I'm going to see Lou at the Tennessee Theatre w/ Melt Banana, I'm wishing Thurston would perform at this show as well.

I thought so myself, at first, but then I just thought, odd shows like that are what a lot of people stride to see. So, I'm excited.

Alright so here's my recollection of the night:
Firstly my friend and I got there kinda late about 8:20 (started at 8) and when we got in Thurston was already playing! I wasnt sure wether it was going to be a "trees" kind of show or more/less improv but quickly found out as i entered the theater and a sea of drone hit my ear.Thurston was sitting down playing the guitar and there were 2 other people. The drone itself was this blend of screeching guitar, sustained notes and slashing sounds.I only caught the last eight minutes of and thats what i recorded.Thurston only opened for like 30 minutes, I wish he was there longer ! Do you guys want to hear it? Lou Reed put on a great show himself. He played some old velvet songs (Im Set Free, Im sticking with you, sweet jane, pale blue eyes). Too bad there was nothing off transformer or blue mask (my 2 favorite albums) He did play some interesting songs ive never heard before like ecstasy, halloween parade, power of the heart. The band itself was great, he had an old school stand up bass, a guy playing accordion (lovingly added into pale blue eyes and im set free) a guy that used samples of other instruments and 2 other guitarists besides himself. The craziest part was at the end where after he'd given his encore of pale blue eyes people stood cheering for like ten minutes demanding another encore, but he already's left. Do you want me to upload the Lou Reed show too?

Check out footage of Moore/Brokaw/Heyner/Lubelski/Shelley from the SXSW Ecstatic Peace showcase featuring a blissful performance of "I'm Not A Young Man Anymore" direct .mp4 video download here inspired by the recent surfacing of the VU Gymnasium '67 boot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wikipuSt5DM There's lots of other amazing monster clips from this show too (check the sidebar). And Lou and Thurston shared billing last month at the festival in Austin at Fader Fort. Yo La Tengo (known for their VU covers), Thurston and others (such as Moby) played two songs each as part of a Lou Reed Tribute showcase. Too bad The Feelies weren't there. The Village Voice (more specifically, staff writer Bill "Square" Jensen) referred to Thurston's two solo covers as an "unimpressive romp." For the finale, Lou came out and one song performed was "Walk On the Wild Side." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5-gcMGlnns He closed by boasting to the audience, "I love punk rock...and I was the first." A few days later, Lou was back in NYC at Joe's Pub accompanying the love of his life, Laurie Anderson, for a special show. There's a video online for "The Lost Art of Conversation." http://laurieanderson.com/gallery/#i...andudine&num=9 Laurie utilizes the joint as a sounding board sometimes. Lou played there last year in a special performance with Pete Townshend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLFk18LfDsM |

Sonic Youth guitarist (and Northampton resident) Thurston Moore opened the show, balancing a couple of quick pop tunes with an extended guitar-noise freak-out that drew scattered boos from the audience.
