I'm talking bands that it could have been feasible for you to have seen them, but you missed them and now wish you hadn't. So there's no point in saying stuff like "The Beatles" unless you were born in or before the early 1950's.
My biggest one is Soulside. I thought they kicked ass (still do actually), but the one time I had the chance to see them I didn't know about it until the next day. |

there have been ones where i missed them come by but have made up for it down the road, however only one really makes me regret not going
DMBQ with Get Hustle at the Talking Head in Baltimore back in 05, that night after the show Mana "China" Nishiura who also drummed for Shonen Knife at one point, was killed in a crash heading towards NYC, since that time i made the right choice to see Sun City Girls at ATP, and stayed longer then i expected, which was such a smart move cause Charles Gocher died a few months later, so it's hard to pass up things when you look at it in such a mortal way |

Believe it or not, I'm upset I didn't see David Byrne a few years ago. It was just him in this very small venue. I'm not a huge fan of his solo stuff (don't dislike it either, tho), but it couldn't have possibly been a waste of time. I don't know what the show was like but I'm sure it was nice.
There's a bunch of stuff I've missed, but for some reason that one really sticks in my craw. |

Sunn0))) and Circle in early 2005, Electric Wizard in early 2006.
At that time I was just getting into those bands. |

Slint, doing Spiderland for ATP. I was going to go with my girlfriend, but then we split up. Shitter (not the splitting up, missing Slint)

The Birthday Party
Albert Ayler circa "Spiritual Unity" (the "New Grass" period would've been a laff riot too) Trouble Funk Fela Kuti Napalm Death when it was the Justin Broadrick/Nic Bullen/Mick Harris line-up Swans Sun Ra Arkestra John Coltrane anytime, anyplace, anywhere Earth, Wind and Fire in their very early days (a seriously funky proposition) Loop

My biggest regret is probably not going to see Sonic Youth on the "Goodbye 20th Century" tour in 2001. They played two nights in a row and I only went to the first night (which was a normal rock show), but not to the SYR4 show the following night. Actually, that's probably the only show I really "regret" not going to, because it was a one-off tour.
Also, just like Pleghmscope I kind of regret not going to see Electric Wizard in early 2006, but I can make up for that this year probably so it's not that big of a deal... Then there were a few overlapping/conflicting shows where -looking back- I think I chose the wrong ones: - Borbetomagus and LSD March (went to another gig instead with Sunn0))), Earth, Espers, Sir Richard Bishop and Wooden Wand & The Vanishing Voice) - Ashtray Navigations at ATP (watched Nurse With Wound instead). |

I wouldn't say regret, but I would have liked to have seen:
Minutemen (I saw fIREHOSE as a second best) The Clash (I saw Joe Strummer...) Black Flag (saw Rollins Band a few times...) Otherwise I've seen just about all of the bands I've wanted to see. |
