Here are the facts -
1. I want to hear it. 2. You want to hear it. 3. Even if i was on the other side of the planet and was able to find one of the few US Starbucks who has it I wouldn't pay for it. Because I'm not into some brand loyality trip were I feel its my duty to buy certain products a band puts out. I don't buy anything unless I want it. And personally, I don't want to buy a $16 dollar greatest hits compilation just to get one new song on a CD. I don't even use CD's. It's not an issue to me about some sort of bullshit politic of either slagging off SY for "expecting" you to buy something that you don't feel is worth buying. ATTENTION - buy shit because you want it - not out of some bullshit "I have to give my money to global corporate capitalism because my heroes Sonic Youth are selling them their logo and image and recordings". I mean do you really expect SY to go on some capitalist morality trip and only release records that meet certain standards? What's the fucking point? Records are released for MONEY! If it wasnt solely about money you would release the shit for free! Even if Sonic Youth publically said they didn't want their fans to download their music for free (which they haven't) i'd still fuckin do it! I'm personally not interested in some bullshit idea about paying certain corporations and companies in cash for the right to listen to music. That's just fucking bullshit. I am not concerned with keeping some sort of capitalist ethic when i listen to music. I want to listen to music, so I fucking listen to it. End of story. If the music is there and I want to hear it I will try to. Just like any other sane person. If yr so concerned with what sonic youth think why don't you go ask them are they gonna be mad at you for downloading the song? Maybe if you really worshipped yr idols enough you'd have read that interview were Lee talks about how he downloads loads of music for free. Do you really think they give a fuck? Do you only listen to music if the artist gives you permission? If you want to buy the CD then buy it. If you don't then don't. If you can't cos you can't even get access to it then don't deny yrself the pleasure of hearing it. The people who complain about not paying for the music you listen to should really walk around everyday with their ears covered so they are deaf in case they accidently hear a song playing out of someones car or at their friends house or wherever. Sonic Youth seem like cool people, I've never met them, I wish them all the best financially. I also wish myself all the best financially and that means not spending money I can't afford to hear something I could get for free. If the band doesn't want us to use this forum to spread it then that's their wish. But we'll get it some other way anyway so we might aswell. SO CAN WE ALL GET OFF THIS ARGUMENTATIVE TRIP AND JUST PM EACH OTHER THE SONG! Someone PM it to me, then I will PM it to whoever asks, and then they can do the same etc. |

I'm gonna hold off hearing it. If it's good it'll likely end up on the next record ala Mariah Carey and the Arthur Doyle Handcream or Plastic Sun. Failing that, as someone already mentioned, we can always wait for Destroyed Room II.

I'd be willing to pay a daft sum of money if it was released as a one-sided 7", but in the meantime a pm would be pretty sweet..

its funny that the first thing you say is that you want to hear it then go on to say that you only buy things that you want.

man, this is such shit. I just got hired at a Starbucks, and they won't be getting it in. Sorry I can't help anyone out just yet. That said, anyone that gets the song I would really appreciate it if you could send it my way. Time to be ultra picky, but preferably ripped at quality above 128 kbps.

When this thing actually comes out, it won't be that hard to get on soulseek, type in "sonic youth slow revolution" and have the song in about 10 seconds if it's really that important.

I haven't found it on waffles or what.cd, can't think of any other private trackers I could try. |

I can't help but picture it sounding like the bob dylan cover from 'I'm Not There' - I.E. Acoustic Guitar in the mix + super deep voice thurston vox.

This thread doesn't really add much to the other two "Someone upload a copy of Slow Revolution" threads, does it?

You're all missing the point of that "SLOW revolution"..take it easy guys, you'll hear it, eventually. And no, don't click on that orange "slow", it's not a hidden download link.
