I've been annoyed by this a lot lately because of REM's thrashy/blippy intro to I'm Gonna DJ. I find myself driving or whatever and just replaying the first 6 seconds. Fucking annoying. I thought of sampling and looping it to do something of my own over it but I'm not at all knowledgeable of editing.
Others that come to mind: Sebadoh's Emma Get Wild needs its own thing, also Beauty of the Ride ruined by Barlow's Foo Fighters-like crooning. |

i like the opening to stairway to heaven because it's so much fun to play on a marimba, but stairway to heaven is the biggest piece of garbage.

"Dripping Dream"
the opening riff and feedback skronk in the beginning is heavenly, but the chorus just ruins it.

Love You Inside Out by the Bee Gees. I still like the rest of the song (so sue me) but that first 20 seconds is killer.
Paint it Black Under the Blacklight by Rilo Kiley. Terrible song, but the intro is really good. |

One by Metallica
As soon as it gets into that really repetitive metal part I am overcome with the urge to bang my head against a brick wall. |

metallica's cover of am i evil? sounds pretty evil and awesome at the beginning but after the finger tapped part it gets kind of generic and boring.

The Velvet Underground - Sweet Jane
I wouldn't say the rest of the song sucks too much, I just don't really like it. |

Magic Carpet Ride
Intro promises all kinds of noisy, creepy destruction. Song delivers Canadian cornball lite-boogie-almost-psych |
