Okay, I want a JAZZMASTER, but the cheapest one I've found was like $800. So, I'm going to go ahead and say no to that.
But I can get a new Jagmaster for $250... is it worth getting? I'm currently using a Squire Strat and I thought it was a good guitar until I picked up a Jazzmaster. Obviously, a Jagmaster is a lesser model, but I'm just looking for something with a good clean sound with a lot of flexibility and ease of use... Any thoughts on this.... |

I guess if people were wondering about my playing style, I tremolo pick a lot, play lots of single notes, just generally play really fast... I want a guitar that is easy to hold and bend the strings around and make fucked up noises on... haha. That's all.
Oh, a problem with the fake Strats is that it goes out of tune REALLY easily... not even when I'm using the whammy bar.. just playing a few riffs really fast on a single string will make it go out of tune... meh. |

I always thought Jagmasters looked really naff. Accept no substitutes for a Jazz/Jag, is all I'm saying, just because a guitar looks like them doesn't mean it'll be any good.

Adam:
You are in a semi-successful band. Surely you can gig a bit more and get a Jazzmaster? No compromises, dude! |

adam, i think a jagmaster would do fine for what you want to do with it. Its less sensitive than jazz/jags and i guess the pickups are better for what youre looking at.

I'd be more supportive of the Jagmaster if it had a Jazzmaster style trem and pickups.

i wouldn't because the squier trem hardware would really suck and it wouldnt even be worth a replacement. I can barely handle my CIJ trem and stop it from breaking. |

my friend just got a jazzmaster, you can play anything on it and it sounds sweet, even when my mate turned the reverb effect on his amp to full. Surely you have to get a jazzmaster in your guitar collection, especially with all that money in the bank.

I have a Jagmaster, it's my main guitar... I love the shit out of it. And for the record, I play fast too with my band... not so much single notes, but it's so fuckin' playable. Really fun (and awesome sounding) guitar... I'd say do it, I can't really think of anything wrong with the guitar. Actually, that it goes out of tune easily with the whammy bar is a bit of a bummer, but I got past that. I don't use it often, anyway, only to make fucked up sounds.

Hmm.
I think I'll go with the SX SJM actually. It's $100 cheaper. ONE DAY, I'll upgrade to a great guitar. |
