This new batch has been highly anticipated and is one of my favorites. As most of you know by now, I was diagnosed with lymphoma in January and started treatment shortly after that. I've now been in remission for almost two months and am completely done with treatment! Anyway, paypal buttons are on the website. A few of the other DNT releases still in print are almost out of print, so if you haven't picked them up yet now would be the time!
Stores/distros, get in touch for wholesale rates!! Best, Tynan http://www.dntrecords.com DNT048 - Black Pus/Foot Village split 12" $12ppd US/Canada (International folks email for total) Including the tracks from their split cassette released last year on DBA, this 12" adds 1 Foot Village bonus track and 2 Black Pus bonus tracks. This music is raw, distorted, and totally fucked up drum rock. Each 12" includes a 16" x 22" poster that is a full color animal photo with art by Brian Chippendale screened on top. Brian is the dude behind Black Pus and he is the drummer of Lightning Bolt. This release is all about drums being punk as fuck. Edition of 300. Co-released with Deathbomb Arc. ************************************************** ************************************* DNT033 - Bobb Bruno "Clown's Castle" cassette $6ppd US/Canada $11ppd International I first saw Bobb Bruno about two years ago at The Smell in downtown LA. I had heard of him prior to the show (he also plays in Goliath Bird Eater and Knit Witch, among others) but didn't really know what to expect from him by himself, and live. He came out wearing a full bunny costume, head and all and sat down playing the coolest electronic drum pad I've ever seen. Some of his past releases have been dreamy pop, others have been heavy as nails. This tape falls somewhere in between. One minute there's beautiful synthscapes and the next it's heavy bass and pounding drums. Hand-numbered edition of 79 on purple cassettes with full-color piggie artwork by Bobb Bruno. ************************************************** ************************************* DNT041 - Ducktails/Mudboy "Summer of Saucers" split cassette $6ppd US/Canada $11ppd International Well the summer is coming to an end now and I can't think of a better way to end it than with this tape, "Summer of Saucers". The A-Side is Providence's Raphael Lyon, better known as Mudboy. The side starts off by the lakeside, and you can hear frogs and geese nearby. It slowly builds up with keyboards coming into the picture before fading back to where it started. Lazy day at the river. The flipside is New Jersey's Matt Mondanile aka Ducktails. Ducktails has been described by someone as "ectoplasmic and cartoonishly cosmic bliss" and with song titles such as "Chill Jam" and "Sun Out My Window" you'll be apt to agree. Colourful conehead artwork by George W. Myers of Grey Skull/Breaking World Records. In an edition of 100 pro-dubbed blue tapes. *********************** |

Please don't use your lymphoma as an excuse to advertise on this here site. I have no sympathy for that kind of stuff.

But your shameless advertising is exactly what 99% of the people on this message board oppose.

I wasn't aware that anyone opposed people using the board to inform other people of things that might interest them. And DNTrecords releases interest a fair few people here, I think you'll find.
Glad to hear of your successful treatment, Tynan. |

Haha. But seriously, I've seen people shit bricks with anger when regular boardies advertise their bands in threads, so why is it fine for someone to come along and target advertise you guys, then ask for forums to move on to to do the same.

You think that Tynan, a regular and much liked contributor to this board, is using his cancer to guilt trip us into buying his wares?
If you weren't so young, I'd be shocked by such a level of twattery. |

In a way, yes, though that's not exactly the point I'm making. I'm saying that all his posts have just been advertising his label's stuff, which isn't even free, which is hardly a contribution to the board. And given he posts like once every two months, I'd hardly consider him a regular.

Aside from the fact that you're obviously confusing the words "frequent" and "regular", that is pretty much what you were saying: "Please don't use your lymphoma as an excuse to advertise on this here site".
You said something extremely dumb. Let's just move on. |

Before said "moving on" I'd like to clarify that that was not the entire basis of my argument. My mum had cancer, and just recently got over it and I don't start threads like "Y helo thar, my mum just got over her cancer and by complete coincidence I released an album on the same day. Here's the link. Yeah anyway, cancer."
Of course that's an obvious exaggeration of the original poster, but still valid as an example nonetheless. |

So you don't mind that you're the target of a shameless advertising campaign of one who goes from forum to forum to advertise his label's cassettes?
Sometimes the indie-ness of this board implodes in on itself. |

I'm all for small record / tape / CD / CDR labels spamming the board with details of their releases if the type of music is relevant to the context of the board. I wish more would. Anything that helps me to find music I might like is cool by me.

its not like he's posting a new thread every day or spamming every unrelated thread with notes about his releases... at least he posts in the right place. and its not about fuckign masturbation or the dumb "LOL me to"'s replies that seem to be 90% of the posts here.. |
