Can someone find me an mp4 of the new F13 trailer? Mp4 preferably. Or wmv or swf or avi or mpg or mov or flv. The thing is, I want a downloadable trailer, not a streaming trailer. Anyone?

403 Forbidden.

Anyway, they're really remaking Friday the 13th? I thought this was a joke.
Wow.

It's kind of a remake of pts 1-3. Kind of a prequel. Like Rob Zombie's Halloween was. Yeah. The trailer looks good. Comes out 2/13/09.

I should tell you that I absolutely love, seriously love every single F13 film. Before you start to tell me like JASON X is bad or FREDDY VS blah blah, I'm just letting you know. I love all of them. Hardcore.

Weird. I loved RZ's Halloween. I really did. I dnt even think of it as a remake, as much as just a re-imagining. Like comic books do with their one-off what-if issues. That's how I took Jason X as well, for instance.

At any rate, I just found out that RETURN TO SLEEPAWAY CAMP came out today, and it's directed by the same dude who did part 1 !!!!! So awesome. The original trilogy is amazing.

Yeah Sleepaway Camp movies are pretty cool, I have no interest in seeing Return though. I have seen VERY few American horror films in the past few years that didn't completely disappoint me.

And I think Rob Zombie is an awful director. I completely hate Halloween, though it's not even as bad as the Devil's Rejects, which is one of the worst films I've ever seen. The whole movie is about hiding in hotels for christ's sakes!

It's my favorite genre of movie. That doesn't mean that 99% of it is isn't complete bullshit. Especially nowadays. I love the Friday the 13th series too but some of those films are terrible. Part V is one of the worst films I've ever seen! Perhaps I'm just too fair and honest with my assessments and you're too forgiving.

American horror films in general have been shitty for years, except for some random horror comedies (Monster High for example), slashers (which is my favorite genre), and some fucked up Troma movies. Japan is where all the good horror is... not the Ring and all that shit but the REAL horror movies from there. I seem to gravitate more towards giallos and 70's-80's Italian gore films though... Dario Argento and Fulci and Martino and D'Amato were amazing in their own ways.

All these nu-horror films are terrible... Hostel, Saw, Turistas, etc. Even the ones that don't FEEL like nu-horror films like the Strangers and Wolf Creek still aren't very good! On the other side of the spectrum, there are a bunch of self-referential horror comedies.. what did I watch recently.. uh.. DANCE OF THE DEAD and somethng called MONSTER PARTY. Which were both tongue and cheek and terrible! Even independant horror is bad! Nowadays, the only new horror I like seems to be coming from Japan or France...

For the record, I have never met a single person in real life who liked Rob Zombie's Halloween. Not that it matters, just sayin'. That really shocks me.

It's not that I'm too forgiving, I dont think. It's just that I like what I like. It's ineffable sometimes. There's very few Japanese horror films (that I've seen -- low count) that I've liked. That's just me. I have always sort of gravitated toward 70's/80's low budget US horror. I grew up on USA's Up All Night, if that helps? I could try to get all cerebral about it, but the fact is, I just like what I like. I mean, I think that my opinions are just as honest as yrs, they're just not the same. I dont really watch much else other than horror to be honest.

Yeah, I love USA Up All Night too, that's why I mentioned Monster High. I am a big lover of shitty horror/b-movies/etc... I'm just saying, I haven't seen many good new horror films lately... And this remake in particular looks baaaaaaaad.

Thinking hard about it, the last horror film I really enjoyed was probably Teeth, and I dunno if that was really a "horror" film at all, but it was enjoyable. Actually, Feast II was pretty entertaining (dead babies!) but awful..

And yeah you've definitely not watched the right Japanese horror films. Watch Rampo Noir or Kichiku sometime... Japanese films are a lot more disturbing, abstract, minimal, artful, etc.

I dnt always equate "disturbing" with "good", though. I dnt know. I'm strangely picky. I HATED the first Feast movie. Teeth was great, though. Really, really liked that one.

There's certain new horror films I love. I loved HOUSE OF 1000 which I'm sure you hated. And I loved CABIN FEVER. GINGER SNAPS. DOG SOLDIERS. I mean, I could probably make a pretty good list of new ones I liked.

Though I enjoyed the Hostels, I'm pretty sick of that whole torture genre. The Saws I think are OK, but I like some more than others, and have never watched any of them more than once.

But as far as the F13 thing goes, I can't help it. If Jason's in a film, I'm excited. It's like this time machine for me. I feel like a little nerdy kid again and that's fun. I was at the first AM showing of Freddy Vs Jason when it came out and cheered loudly at each kill. haha.

True, disturbing doesn't mean good, but it certainly makes for good HORROR.. if that makes sense in the context of what I was saying.

I don't hate House of 1000 Corpses; it definitely falls apart at the end though. I just think Zombie's a bad director, period... his music video editing direction on that was particularly uninspired...

Cabin Fever is good for one reason: Giuseppe Andrews, who is probably the best and most unique, forward-thinking, hilarious, and amazing director currently in America. Let me just stop and say that if anyone wants to see the true future of cinema, they should watch some of Giuseppe Andrews's 24 feature films he's made in the past 6 years. I'm really convinced he's a genius. But anyway.. He's great in that film. IT'S THE PARTY MAN! I also loved the kung fu kid. All in all not a great film but it's alright. I'd love to sit down and talk to Eli Roth about movies, but I don't think he's a very good director really... I think he'll evnetually make something cool though; I thought the trailer he did on Grindhouse was amazing. Anyway, Dog Soldiers was alright. Ginger Snaps.. I've only seen the first one of those, but it was alright....

Also, I never saw Feast, but Feast II has monsters cumming on people, dead babies, a Mexican luchadore wrestling match, hot biker chicks, and all kinds of ridiculous shit. One of the worst films I've ever seen, it's great!

But yeah what I was saying earlier about you being too forgiving.. it's okay to like Jason and all, but just because he's in a film doesn't make it good. There's lots of great and compelling and interesting and larger-than-life and mythical figures that I enjoy but they're in shitty films. Just sayin'. I guess I'm just not a big fanboy for any characters/movies series/directors, because I know everyone is capable of creating bullshit at some point.
