I know there's a thread for it already elsewhere on this board but it wasn't an appreciation thread. I just watched the other 2 films in the trilogy and I really enjoyed them. Sharing the love. Sorry for spelling the name wrong in the title. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koyaanisqatsi |

I only saw this one. Not the other 2. I was in high school and very drunk. It's like that Simpsons episode where Homer eats the chile, right?

A bit of a yawn I think. We had to watch the first one as a part of our visual expression course at school, and the proceed to make a personal adaptation of it.

movie is alright, good visuals, but philip glass bores me to tears, so ive fallen asleep watching this before-- still i managed to complete it.
i think that the contrast of nature vs. civilization is a bit contrived-- but those chicks going down the funnel-- whoa!! |

Yes, know that my version is about seven million times better. I used microwave pizzas and my webcam, instead of flying around the world shooting volcanoes in slow motion.

i thought visually it was a bit of a wank fest, and the music sucks.

We had a projection of it on a huge open air wall at work, once, with the score played live. That's all I remember of it.

I'm a big fan of Godfrey Reggio. In four years of working on movies, Anima Mundi is my only on-screen credit (and they cut it off when it ran on TV). You can almost make it out on the DVD.
