Winner's Blues -getting the record straight

Ok I have not heard one postive thing about the song 'Winner's Blues', but I absolutely love it. I don't get it! It's soooo good! Really cool and 90's and a great way to start of an album. SY hasn't really done anything like it.

Does anyone else like this song? Or really hate it(explain)?

Tuning is pretty much yr average Open G tuning but 3 tones down (EEBEG#B), basically an open E.

For the tab itself, behold the greatness of Mustang.

I like the singing. When he says "wait a long, long time" the "wait" seems to be out of his range, but he sings it nicely.

However, I don't like Bone.

i remember looking at the back of this cd before buying it and this track instantly appealed to me. then i sampled the song in the store. thought it sounded great

It's very true that this is a totally unique SY song... I really like it.
I remember I was dumbfounded when I first heard it because it was so different to anything that they'd ever done before.

Winners Blues is a nice one to play, though I never tried it on an acoustic. I think it's a wonderful opening track, and the way it ends is great: fading whistles, guitar plugs in.

It's a good song along with a lot of the others off of Jet. But for some reason they never sit well together as an album...
