I also don't smoke anymore, but what was surprising to me was that when I smoked, and I smoked winstons or american spirit, true taste either way, the tobacco I smoked had LESS additives then some of the food (even fresh like produce) I still eat... Kyrie Eleison!

Some aren't necessarily bad like brown sugar or licorice when consumed in moderation like with anything else.

the additives in cigarrettes howveer, are there to either make the shit tobbacco taste better, to increase the BURN so gics do not put themselves out (sulphur and phsphorus, excaltly like in matchheads) as well as chemicals to add extra nicotine or to bind with the vtar and make it stick to the "filter."

my friend. I am well versed in the standard FDA/Food Industry pitch regarding these additives, its just I never went down the list before, I have naively trusted the Ingredients listed, but many of these chemicals are not listed in the food specifically when they are used but just as blank terms like "preservatives/artificial flavors"

looking at the list of chemicals would scare even Bill Nye its so damn complex, read off the names, it sounds like magic fucking words!

Rasta say these things are frightening, and we go Ital and greatly restrict and limit our consumption of processed foods, but a lot of these chemicals are used in fresh produce as well, according to the FDA uses explained for the tobacco purposes..

these additives are in tobacco for the reason of the consumer taste. Do any of you smoke true taste? If so, you often have the misfortune of going to the wrong store and getting an old/stale pack of them, and it is just nasty. These chemicals are added to tobacco for the same reason as breakfast cereal, to extend the shelf life of the product from days to years if necessary. Smokers HATE stale tobacco, and so the industry obliges with this scary list. go and read it for yourself, what intimidates me most about that list is not that its in cigarettes but that it is even even fresh foods like breads and produce! alas alas..
