Bummer ... I loved "The Basketball Diaries" and Catholic Boy is one of my top 10 favorite albums.

So lucky to have been exposed to him as an impressionable 16 yr old.

People who DIED , DIED !
I'm having a hard time with people lately. A lot of folks who are pretty young, and having to face the fact that their lives have led up to the fact that they have to watch every single thing they do, while they recover for four fuckin days out of bed from a mini-stroke, which happens one a month. Or they battle with their hospital staff over whether they can make their own lunch, for themselves, by themselves, thank-you-very-much. At 60, and at fucking 50. It's fucking terrifying. |

I'm sure on his 60th birthday he was quite surprised he made it that far. Still sad when anybody dies, especially an artist who might have contributed more for at least a few decades.

Whatever about "artist", what strikes me is that 60 is pretty fucking young to die among the Great List people use as "natural, old age causes".
That makes anyone over thirty well past their middle-age. I hope you've all got your plots lined up, over favorite country singers etc. |

Yup too bad indeed. R.I.P.
Had the pleasure of seeing him in the early 80's. The band did their best to rock but it was in some old factory converted to nightclub so it was tough

"In 1973 Mr. Carroll left New York to escape drugs. He settled in Bolinas"
That doesn't seem like a very good idea from what I know about Bolinas. |
