we've never had an inca ore thread, just many threads mentioning her.

i remember walking out 3 miles to the post depot to pick up a parcel of lp's i missed getting from the postman. i remember walking home to my old 3 story house i lived alone in and sitting in one of the rooms that had nothing but a turntable, preamp, headfones and pillow on the floor and playing birthday of bless you for the first time. i was taken aback at how understated and small? if that's the right word - that the album was. her new album sea surfer school is far better than i expected. eva seems less restrained and has definitly cultivated her sound.

i really like her blog too http://www.urbanhonking.com/incaore/

from what i gather she used to work in a city and was quite burnt out and frayed by the urban techno enviroment, so she moved to the countryside. she's exploring a relationship with nature and a way of life that's quite inspiring. a very relevant path to take judging by the current state of the world.

Brilliant post, not trying to hit on you n'ik but you write about music in a really interesting way, you're right, it is very understated.. thats the quality that really attracted me to it, it's kinda subtle and undefined or something. I really really enjoy BIRTHDAY OF BLESS YOU and the Grouper split a lot, I had this collaboration between her and Tom Carter (of Charalambides) called "rainbow trout" that is just awesome too. Highly reccomended to everyone.
